In the 19th-century tradition of shortening operas to make them more accessible to a wider audience (for example, at fairs), Richard Wagner's "Parsifal" is staged in a historic version by Judith Gauthier (1894) and an adaptation by Giovanni Morelli (1983) for marionettes, vocal soloists and piano. Each character is accompanied by a scent motif which, according to legend, is based on the "line of scents" Wagner received from Judith Gauthier while composing the opera. Duration of performance: 70 minutes
